Step 1:

Choose Your Path

Start your Code Platoon application. Select the program and cohort that aligns best with your goals and schedule. Upcoming cohort dates and deadlines are listed on our calendar page.

Step 2:

Tell Us About Yourself

In Part One of your application, you’ll share your military background, coding experience, and funding preferences. This information helps us tailor our support to your specific needs.

Step 3:

Show Your Skills

Part Two of your application is where you shine! This section includes coding exercises, short essays, and a video submission, allowing us to assess your coding knowledge, communication skills, and overall fit for our program.

New to Coding?

Don’t let a Lack of Coding Experience Hold You Back.

Ready to learn coding, but not sure where to begin? Our free Intro to Coding courses are the perfect first step. You’ll pick up Python fundamentals, practice problem-solving techniques, and build real coding skills through hands-on exercises. Whether you’re brand-new to coding or want to sharpen your foundation, this course gives you the tools to get started with confidence.

After You Apply

We know timing matters, so our admissions process works on your schedule. Instead of waiting for one big deadline, we review applications as they come in. If you’re accepted, you’ll be invited to a Kickoff Call—your first step into the Code Platoon community and the start of your enrollment journey. And if you’re not accepted right away, don’t worry. We’ll give you helpful feedback and the opportunity to strengthen your application and reapply for a future cohort.

Frequently Asked Application Questions

What happens after I submit my application?

We use a rolling admissions process, evaluating applications as they come in. If your application is conditionally accepted, you’ll be invited to one of our Kickoff Calls, marking the beginning of your enrollment journey. (If your application isn’t accepted, we’ll provide you feedback and the chance to revise your submission or reapply for a future cohort.)

What is a conditional acceptance?

A conditional acceptance means you’ve been accepted into the program based on your coding exercises, but there’s one more step before your spot is fully confirmed.

After you apply and complete the three coding challenges, we review your work. If your results meet our standards, we’ll offer you a conditional acceptance.

To finalize your enrollment, you’ll need to complete a live technical interview with one of our instructors. This short interview helps us confirm your coding skills in real time. Once you pass that, your acceptance becomes official and you’re fully enrolled!

What is a kickoff call?

The Kickoff Call is for applicants who are conditionally accepted into a program and will help you discover everything you need for a seamless transition into your Bootcamp. Following the call, our dedicated Enrollment team will be at your side to help you through the process of applying for VA Education Benefits or scholarships, so that your financial needs are taken care of. And if you need to discuss, change, or modify the way you attend Code Platoon at any time, we are ready to make the process as easy as possible. Just let us know.

What is the tuition?

Tuition for Code Platoon's Full-Stack Software Engineering and AL Cloud & DevOps Engineering programs is $20,000. A deposit of $500 is required after acceptance to secure your spot in the program. You may qualify to have your tuition paid for through VA education benefits—the GI Bill or VR&E (formerly Voc Rehab). You’ll also be eligible for our scholarships.

(Tuition subject to change)

What is pre-work?

Before you officially start your Bootcamp experience, you’ll receive comprehensive pre-work materials to ensure you’re fully prepared for the challenges and rewards that await you in your chosen program.

You may also enroll in our optional Foundations of Programming course. This course, offered during your enrollment, is designed to help students reach a uniform skill level and will equip you with the essential knowledge and skills to hit the ground running.
