TLDR: Transitioning into tech takes more than just coding skills; you’ll need a plan and the right connections. That’s why Code Platoon’s Career Services Roadmap guides you step by step from bootcamp to job placement. With resume coaching, interview prep, job search strategies, and exclusive employer connections, our graduates land high-paying jobs in tech.
Code Platoon isn’t just tech training for Veterans and military families. We also coach our students through the job-search strategy, career preparation, and connections building to start a career in software engineering or DevOps. We call this process our Career Services Roadmap.
How the Career Services Roadmap Works
Our Career Services Roadmap is a structured, step-by-step guide that supports you from bootcamp through getting your first tech job. Think of it as your mission plan for breaking into the tech industry. Here’s how it works in two steps.
Step 1: Career Preparation Begins in Bootcamp
Your Career Services Roadmap starts on day one of your coding bootcamp. While you’re mastering full-stack software engineering or AI Cloud and DevOps engineering, you’ll also get targeted training to secure an entry-level tech job after graduation.
- Beyond Tech: Engage in career-readiness workshops on overcoming imposter syndrome, communicating professionally, and confidently navigating tech workplace expectations and the job hunt.
- Resume & LinkedIn Coaching: Work with career coaches and industry volunteers to craft a standout resume tailored to entry-level tech jobs and build a professional LinkedIn profile.
- Personal Branding & Storytelling: Learn how to translate your military experience into a compelling career narrative for job applications and interviews.
- Mock Interviews & Technical Prep: Practice behavioral and technical interviews to get comfortable with the tech hiring process.
Step 2: Job Search After Graduation
Graduating from coding bootcamp is just the beginning. The Career Services Roadmap continues as you launch your job search with dedicated one-on-one support from the Career Services team.
What Our Graduates Get:
- Weekly Career Check-ins: Stay accountable and get personalized guidance throughout your job search.
- Targeted Job Search Plan: Identify your best employment opportunities based on your skills, background, and career goals.
- Ongoing Interview & Technical Prep: Continue refining your interview skills with mock interview sessions.
- Application Tracking & Networking Support: Use our job-tracking tools to stay organized, maximizing your job and apprenticeship opportunities.
- Employer Intros: Connect with our hiring partners with military hiring programs during dedicated intro sessions.
- Career Growth: We don’t just help you land an entry-level job or apprenticeship; we can also help you navigate promotions, salary increases, and long-term success in tech.
Best of all? Career Services don’t stop after you land your first job. Graduates continue to have access to career coaching, job search tools, and employer connections even after they start working.
